I will be teaching 4 painting classes at the Boca Raton Museum Art School Tuesdays all day 3.23 Painting Foundations / Beginning - Intermediate 9 - 12 am . 3.24 The Essence of Painting Intermediate - Advanced 12:30 - 3:30 pm. 3.16 Out of the Box: all Media painting Beginning - Advanced 6:30 - 9:30 pm. And Wednesdays 3.27 Discovering New Possibilities of Painting Beginning - Advanced 1 - 4 pm. My students know that I am committed to sending you from my class with the visual tools to work in any medium you wish. INK Bring any ink you have to play with. Brushes for ink (never to grace paint again!) sticks, q tips, anything to manipulate the ink I will share my supplies. Paper suggestions: Bristol Hot pressed WC paper Cold pressed WC paper (this is rough) Experiment with color: WC or pastels or paint. We will be building textures with varied line qualities. Experiments with value through washes. Drawing from Photographs - Your Family We all have favorite photos of our family or friends. Since "you are the editor," you will incorporate the information we have reinforced in this class when drawing your favorites. I will strongly reinforce composition, negative and positive space and value structure. Bring in a photo that is dear to you or you just find intriguing. Drawing kits: Graphite or charcoal Color if you wish. Bristol paper for graphite Charcoal paper for charcoal Cool Artist links. I chose photorealists. By no means do you have to try to be a photorealist. They have no qualms about copying the photo exactly. You, my friends, may choose to interpret otherwise.
