Jan. 6 - GESTURE! Exploring expressive mark making

Jan. 13 - MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES Experiment with papers/surfaces

Jan. 20 - NOTAN Value and composition exercises (you can't get enough!)

Jan. 27 - CONFLICT In rhythm, value, shape, size ...... etc. etc. etc.

These classes are now offered as blocks of four for $80 or $25 each as a drop in. I have been listening to your requests and will be focusing on techniques as well as the elements and principles of design.

SINGAPORE BIENNALE 2016

Lucky me. I arrived in Singapore to find their Biennale in the Singapore Art Museum and other Museums and institutions around town. It has been a great introduction to the Southeast Asian geography and culture. Many visits have pulled me out of an extreme state of jet lag and whetted my appetite to learn more about Southeast Asia. The article discusses Nerdrum's work as philosophical allegories. Always intriguing work with spiritual undertones. Reminiscent of Rembrandt. Nerdrum uses only four colors but he premixes the palette and tubes the colors he uses in his paintings. Curiously, he mixes blue from mars black and titanium white.
